Welcome to “Didgimax Photography”. My name is Stuart Cowley-Wenham and I am a UK based photographer from East Sussex. My love for cameras started with my parents Olympus Trip 35 when I was 7 and batteries were a foreign concept and David Bailey was a household name. I took after school classes where I learnt to develop black and white film. Photography has always been a huge influence in my life and a hobby I am continually amazed with. Through my years I have amassed a hard-earned collection of awards, certificates and other life skills, theses are a few examples. Chairman of Sidley Traders Association , Management courses at Hastings College, Ambassador for Bexhill, Speaker at the De la Warr Pavilion ,Executive Member of the Chamber of Commerce, Executive Member of the Rother District Regeneration Partnership, Partnership work with the Police and Fire Brigade.
Despite being a wide-reaching range of achievements, it’s linked to photography through my passion for helping people and passing on knowledge in as simplistic a way I can. Through all my different roles I have encountered a lot of challenges including overcoming my own learning difficulties. I am always looking to attain more knowledge and information. I enrolled in the School of Photography where I was tutored by Marc Newton and have enjoyed undertaking many more online courses. I am also pursuing a Masters Degree in Photography to reaffirm and extend my knowledge.
In 2017 my hobby was able to be transformed into my new business and then in 2019 I convinced Drusilla’s park to take me in as their first ever professional in-house photographer. I run a very popular photo day where I mentor people of all ages through the day with tips and hints to make sure their cameras are set correctly as we go in and out of the animal enclosures. I am passionate about wildlife; our planet, the impact we have. How we can create a better environment? I strongly believe if we can engage people especially children with photography and show them how beautiful all living things are, the less likely they will want to see them harmed.
